US President Trump Attacks Elon Musk Over ‘America Party’; Calls Him A ‘Train Wreck’

US President Trump slams Musk over ‘America Party’ launch, criticises EV stance and NASA ties amid rising 2024 election tensions.

Trump Attacks Elon Musk

US President Donald Trump has lashed out at Tesla CEO Elon Musk, accusing him of turning into a ‘train wreck’ after announcing the formation of a new political party called the ‘America Party’. President Trump’s sharp criticism came through a lengthy post on his social media platform, Truth Social, on July 7.

The remarks mark a dramatic shift in the relationship between the two allies. US President Trump expressed deep disappointment in Musk’s recent political activities and claimed the tech mogul had gone “completely off the rails” over the past five weeks.

Concerns over third-party chaos

President Trump was especially critical of Musk’s move to launch a third party, noting that such efforts have historically failed in the United States.

He warned that third parties only bring ‘disruption and chaos’, something he believes the country already has enough of due to the ‘radical Left Democrats’.

“The system is not designed for third parties,” the US President said, adding that “Republicans are a smooth-running machine” in contrast.

Clash over EV mandate

In his post, US President took credit for recently signing what he called the ‘One Big Beautiful Bill’, which repealed the electric vehicle (EV) mandate.

He claimed the bill allows Americans the freedom to choose petrol cars, hybrids, or emerging technologies.

President Trump revealed that Musk had once given him full support despite knowing Trump’s opposition to mandatory electric vehicles.

“I was very surprised,” President Trump said, referring to Musk’s supposed indifference at the time to the US President’s anti-EV stance.

NASA appointment dispute

President Trump also disclosed a previously unknown disagreement about NASA leadership.

He claimed Musk had recommended a close friend to lead NASA, but the US President rejected the suggestion after learning the individual was a Democrat.

He found it inappropriate given Musk’s strong business links to the space agency, declaring his primary duty was to ‘protect the American public’.

Musk Criticises bipartisan corruption

In response to growing criticism, Elon Musk earlier posted that both major parties were responsible for excessive spending and corruption.

He claimed that America no longer functions as a democracy, calling the current political system “a one-party system in disguise”.

Musk said the American Party aims to restore freedom and fiscal responsibility to the people.

The heated exchange underscores the growing tension within US politics as the 2024 elections draw closer.

With President Trump reaffirming his control over the Republican base and Musk presenting an alternative path, the battle over political influence and ideology in America is intensifying.
