PM Narendra Modi on Tuesday stated that the ‘mantra of performance’ is the driving force behind India’s progress, underscoring the importance of swift action and decisive leadership for the nation’s development.
PM Modi Inaugurated Pamban Bridge
Speaking at an event in the national capital, PM Modi shared insights from his recent visit to Rameswaram, where he inaugurated the historic Pamban Bridge.
The new bridge, the first vertical lift rail-sea bridge in the country, replaces the old structure built by the British over 125 years ago.
PM Modi emphasized how the bridge had withstood numerous storms and damage, but previous governments failed to take action despite public demand for repairs.
Under his leadership, work on the new bridge commenced, marking a major milestone in the country’s infrastructure development.
‘Delay Is The Enemy Of Development’: PM Modi
The Prime Minister pointed out that delays in infrastructure projects impede national progress.
“Delay is the enemy of development,” PM stated, stressing that his government was committed to defeating this obstacle and delivering projects on time.
PM Modi cited the example of the Bogibeel Bridge in Assam, which had been stalled for decades after its foundation was laid in 1997 by former Prime Minister Deve Gowda.
Despite the initial efforts by Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee to begin the project, it remained incomplete under successive governments.
However, PM Modi’s government took action in 2014, completing the bridge in just four years in 2018.
The Prime Minister also highlighted the Kollam Bypass Road project in Kerala, which had been pending for 50 years since 1972.
While previous governments made no significant progress, the current government completed the project in just five years, demonstrating the PM’s focus on efficient governance.
India’s Achievements During 100 Days Of 2025
PM Modi also highlighted his government’s achievements during the first 100 days of 2025.
The Prime Minister declared that the accomplishments demonstrated India’s unstoppable, unyielding, and unwavering progress.
Among its notable achievements, India became the fourth country in the world to achieve satellite docking and undocking capabilities.
Additionally, the successful testing of the semi-cryogenic engine and surpassing 100 gigawatts of solar capacity were major milestones.
The Prime Minister also mentioned record coal production of 1,000 million tons, the launch of the National Critical Mineral Mission, and the decision to establish the 8th Pay Commission for Central Government employees.
Furthermore, the government increased fertilizer subsidies for farmers, reaffirming its commitment to the welfare of the agricultural sector.
