Noida’s Sector-126 police took major action on 7 March against three criminals involved in mobile snatching.

The police received information that the suspects were riding a stolen motorcycle and heading toward Kalindi Kunj.

In response, Sector-126 police set up a barricade on the Kalindi Kunj Highway for checking.

Soon, a suspect on an Apache motorcycle and two others on a KTM motorcycle attempted to evade the police checkpoint by speeding past the barricade and fleeing toward the Yamuna Ghat along the drain embankment.

When police pursued them, the criminals opened fire with the intent to kill.

In retaliatory action, the police shot and injured all three suspects. They were identified as:

  • Irshad (21 years old) – Resident of Shastri Park, Delhi (native of Madhubani village, Supaul district, Bihar)
  • Naseem (22 years old) – Resident of Shastri Park, Delhi
  • Sumit (21 years old) – Resident of Shastri Park, Delhi

The police recovered:

  • Five snatched mobile phones
  • Two stolen motorcycles
  • Three illegal firearms
  • Three empty shells and three live cartridges

During interrogation, the criminals confessed that they used stolen motorcycles to snatch mobile phones from pedestrians and flee.

Investigations revealed their involvement in multiple mobile snatching incidents.

Earlier, on 25 February, they snatched a OnePlus smartphone containing Rs 2,500 from a person near the Baraat Ghar in Sector-19, Noida.

Additionally, in January, they snatched a Samsung smartphone from a person in Sector-58, Noida.

The injured criminals were taken to a hospital for treatment.

Police are further investigating their criminal activities.

So far, records show that around five cases have been registered against them in different police stations across Delhi and Noida.
