Foreign Tourists Explore Sanatan Dharma In Maha Kumbh
Agni Akhara Secretary Mahamandaleshwar Sampurnanand shared that this year’s Maha Kumbh has drawn a significant number of international visitors. He said, “Foreign tourists are now deeply interested in understanding not only the ascetic lives of the Naga Sadhus but also the extensive arrangements behind Maha Kumbh and the richness of Sanatan culture.”
He noted that visitors are keen to explore the contrast between ascetic and household life, furthering their understanding of India’s diverse traditions.
Cultural Connection & Insights From Ghana’s Representatives
Among the international visitors was Jitendra Singh Negi, a representative from the High Commission Affairs of Ghana. Reflecting on his connection to India, he said, “My ancestors migrated from India to Ghana, and visiting Prayagraj for the first time has offered me invaluable insights into Sanatan Dharma. Meeting Guruji (Agni Akhara Mahamandaleshwar Sampurnanand) was a transformative experience, as we discovered the depth of our shared cultural and spiritual traditions.”
Negi accompanied 16 other representatives from Ghana, and they all deeply moved by their interactions with Indian culture.
Foreign tourist Ankita Upadhyay also shared her awe after experiencing Maha Kumbh firsthand. “We had heard about Maha Kumbh, but experiencing it in person has been overwhelming,” she said. “The seamless arrangements at Sangam and the spiritual energy present here have left a lasting impression on us.”
Growing International Interest In Maha Kumbh
According to Maha Kumbh administration officials, tourists from over 50 countries have already visited the event in 2025, with more expected to arrive in the coming days. This surge in international interest reflects not only the spiritual significance of the festival but also India’s ability to efficiently manage such a large-scale, religious gathering with meticulous planning and devotion.
