The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) issued a legal notice to educationist Guru Rahman on Saturday, accusing him of inciting students against the commission. This comes just a day after the commission sent a similar notice to Faizal Khan, widely known as Khan Sir.
BPSC Alleges Of Incitement And Misinformation
The BPSC alleges that Guru Rahman, in collaboration with Khan Sir, played a role in fueling student protests by spreading confusion about the normalisation process in the 70th BPSC Preliminary examination. The commission claims that these actions led to widespread protests from candidates who felt misled about the examination procedures.
Police Notice And Earlier Warnings
In addition to the legal notice from the BPSC, the Patna Police had previously sent a separate notice to Guru Rahman. The police sought his cooperation in providing evidence related to an alleged paper leak incident. Moreover, Rahman had been warned by the police to stay away from protests in Patna’s Gardanibagh area until January 3.
Guru Rahman, who is also known as “Daroga Guru” in Bihar, met with a Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM)-rank officer at the Gardanibagh police station, where he was cautioned about his involvement in the protests.
BPSC Demands Apology And Warns Of Legal Action
The BPSC has now escalated its actions against both Guru Rahman and Khan Sir. The commission has issued separate notices to both educationists, demanding a public apology within 15 days. The BPSC has warned that failure to comply with this request will result in strict legal action.
Notices Sent To Khan Global Coaching Centres
Along with the notices to Rahman and Khan Sir, the BPSC has also sent notices to all five branches of Khan Global Coaching Centres. These centres are located in Mukherjee Nagar and Karol Bagh in Delhi, Boring Road and Musallahpur Haat in Patna, and Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh.
Khan Sir has faced accusations of using abusive and inappropriate language directed at BPSC officials, including the chairman and secretary. The notice outlines these allegations in detail and demands accountability from the coaching centres.
The BPSC’s actions highlight the growing tensions surrounding the commission’s 70th Preliminary examination. Both Khan Sir and Guru Rahman have been accused of spreading misinformation and making inflammatory statements that led to unrest among the student community. The legal notices are part of the BPSC’s efforts to contain the fallout and address the claims against them.
