Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized the sacrifices of Sikh Gurus as a guiding force for the nation’s unity and strength. He addressed a gathering during the Veer Baal Diwas celebrations at his residence, underscoring the rich traditions of the Sikh community and their role in safeguarding India’s heritage and values.
Yogi praised the Sikh Gurus for their unwavering dedication to protecting the country and religion in adverse circumstances. He said the Sikh Gurus’ sacrifices remind the nation of their enduring commitment to preserving cultural and religious harmony.

Recognizing Sacrifices of Sikh Gurus
The Chief Minister highlighted the contributions of Guru Nanak Dev, who opposed Babar’s atrocities, and Guru Arjun Dev, who sacrificed his life to counter Jahangir’s tyranny. He also acknowledged Guru Tegh Bahadur, who gave his life to uphold the dignity of the nation and ensure Kashmir remained an integral part of India.
Yogi recalled the martyrdom of Guru Gobind Singh’s four sons, the Sahibzadas, and their ultimate sacrifice for protecting the country and religion. He stressed that this history of martyrdom inspires every Indian and strengthens the nation’s resolve.
Call to Preserve Sikh Heritage
Yogi urged efforts to beautify historical Gurdwaras and preserve Sikh traditions. He announced plans to collaborate with the Municipal Corporation for the restoration and enhancement of these sites. The Chief Minister also stressed the importance of combating threats like drugs, which target Sikh youth, and called for unity against forces attempting to disrupt harmony.
During the event, Yogi installed the sacred Sri Guru Granth Sahib, participated in Shabad-Kirtan, and served langar. Prominent leaders and members of the Sikh community attended the program, marking the nationwide significance of Veer Baal Diwas.
The Chief Minister concluded by emphasizing that the sacrifices of Sikh Gurus are not just the history of a community but an inspiration for the entire nation.
