The Adani Foundation launched an initiative today to empower over 7,000 Divyangs (persons with disabilities) across Gujarat. The initiative, in collaboration with the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of Gujarat, marks the celebration of International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
Empowering Divyangs through Education and Livelihood Support
The event took place at Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar, with state ministers and eminent personalities attending. The initiative will provide Divyangs with education, skill development, livelihood opportunities, and essential assistive devices to improve their lives.
Jeet Adani, Director of Adani Airports, expressed his commitment to the Divyang community. “I am not just a leader of Adani Group but also a partner to all Divyang brothers and sisters,” he said. He reassured the audience that Adani Group is dedicated to improving their lives. Over the past decade, the Adani Foundation has worked to provide skill enhancement, education, and livelihood support to Divyangs, especially in areas like Mundra, Khavda, and Lakhpat in Kutch.
Focus on Kutch District’s Divyang Community
The Adani Foundation’s efforts are especially concentrated in Kutch, where the number of Divyangs is high. The foundation aims to further enhance their quality of life in Mundra, Khavda, and Lakhpat through this new initiative.
The Adani Foundation has consistently worked over the last 10 years to improve the lives of Divyangs, providing them with education, skill development, and assistive devices. Their focus on Kutch highlights their commitment to the region.
