More than 24 lakh candidates were provisionally shortlisted during job fairs organized across India in the past five years, Union Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh announced on Thursday.
Singh informed the Rajya Sabha that state employment exchanges and model career centers conducted 34,809 job fairs between 2019-20 and 2023-24, according to the Ministry of Labour & Employment.
National Career Service Drives Recruitment
The job fairs are a key initiative under the National Career Service (NCS) project, which operates under the administrative control of the Ministry of Labour & Employment. The program aims to connect job seekers with employers, fostering opportunities for both parties.

Impressive Participation Numbers
During this five-year period, the job fairs witnessed significant participation:
- Jobseekers: 26,83,161 candidates attended.
- Employers: 83,913 companies took part.
- Candidates Shortlisted: 24,37,188 were provisionally selected for roles.
