External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar is set to meet US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Tuesday in Washington, DC. The agenda will cover significant bilateral and global issues, including the Russia-Ukraine conflict and the turmoil in the Middle East.
Strengthening US-India Strategic Partnership
This is Jaishankar’s first visit to Washington since the Modi government’s re-election. In addition to meeting Blinken, he will interact with top US officials and participate in a discussion at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace (CEIP). The session will focus on strengthening US-India relations and India’s growing global influence.
Focus on Global Leadership and Technology
During the event, Jaishankar and CEIP President Mariano Florentino Cuellar will discuss how India and the US can enhance cooperation in key areas such as artificial intelligence, biotechnology, and security. CEIP has emphasized the increasing importance of India’s strategic role in shaping US foreign policy.
