Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja reached a significant milestone on Monday, becoming the seventh Indian bowler to claim 300 wickets in Test cricket.
This achievement came during the second Test match against Bangladesh at Green Park Stadium, as Jadeja helped bowl out the visitors for 233.

Jadeja’s landmark moment occurred when he dismissed Bangladesh’s Khaled Ahmed, bringing an end to the visitors’ innings.
In doing so, Jadeja entered an exclusive club of cricketers who have both 300 wickets and 3,000 runs in Test cricket; a feat previously accomplished by Indian legends Kapil Dev and Ravichandran Ashwin.
Not only did he achieve this milestone, but Jadeja also became the second-fastest Indian, in terms of balls bowled, to reach 300 wickets in Test cricket, taking 17,428 deliveries.
He trails only Ashwin, who achieved the mark in 15,636 balls.
Additionally, Jadeja now holds the distinction of being the fastest Asian to reach both 300 wickets and 3,000 runs in Test cricket, and second-fastest globally, behind England’s Ian Botham.
The match, which was plagued by rain delays, finally saw a full day’s play on the fourth day, and India made the most of the opportunity.
Jasprit Bumrah set the tone early, removing the dangerous Mushfiqur Rahim to give India an upper hand.
However, Bangladesh’s Mominul Haque mounted a strong resistance, compiling a resilient century as his team attempted to fight back.
Despite Mominul’s efforts, India’s fielders kept the pressure on, with captain Rohit Sharma taking a spectacular catch to dismiss Litton Das.
Mohammed Siraj also played a crucial role, grabbing a sharp chance to send Shakib Al Hasan back to the pavilion.
Bumrah continued his lethal form, removing Mehidy Hasan and Taijul Islam in quick succession.
Siraj added Hasan Mahmud to his tally before Jadeja’s final dismissal of Khaled Ahmed sealed Bangladesh’s fate, wrapping up their innings.
India’s clinical performance on the field, combined with Jadeja’s historic achievement, left Bangladesh with little chance of recovery, as the hosts dominated the day and secured a crucial victory.
