India Ranked 3rd Most Powerful Nation In Asia Power Index, Hardeep Puri Credits PM Modi’s Leadership

Puri emphasized that India’s rise is no accident but a direct result of PM Modi’s bold diplomatic strategy and ambitions to reshape the nation’s global standing

India has been ranked the third most powerful nation in the Asia Power Index 2024, according to a report by the Sydney-based Lowy Institute. Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri hailed this achievement, attributing India’s rise to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

India’s Growing Power in Asia

The Asia Power Index report places India behind only China and Japan. The report highlights India’s increasing influence, particularly in Economic Capability, Diplomatic Activity, and Future Resources. India’s demographic advantage is seen as a key factor in its ascent, while China’s growth appears to be slowing.

Puri emphasized that India’s rise is no accident but a direct result of PM Modi’s bold diplomatic strategy and ambitions to reshape the nation’s global standing.

Modi’s Global Impact Lauded

Puri credited Modi’s leadership for turning India’s nonalignment policy into a powerful diplomatic tool. He remarked that PM Modi’s tireless efforts on the world stage have put India in a position to become the new kingmaker of Asia. He also criticized previous Congress-led governments for their lack of direction, stating India would not have reached this status under their leadership.
