Indian Diaspora In US

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, New York, where he will address a highly anticipated rally of the Indian diaspora on Sunday. Over 16,000 attendees, many traveling from across the U.S. overnight, have gathered to hear his speech.

A cultural program celebrating India’s diversity began before Modi’s arrival. The venue, home to the Long Island Nets, is under tight security with the Transportation Security Agency conducting rigorous checks similar to those at airports.

PM Modi’s Arrival and Anticipation

Upon landing in New York early Sunday morning, Modi posted on X, expressing his eagerness to meet the diaspora. “After programmes in Delaware, landed in New York. Eager to be among the diaspora at the community programme in the city and to take part in other programmes,” he shared.

Community Event Amid Busy Schedule

This is the second major event at the Nassau Coliseum in a week, following Donald Trump’s rally. Modi’s speech follows his participation in the Quad Summit and comes ahead of his address to the United Nations Summit on Monday. The event, dubbed “Modi and US, Progress Together,” has drawn massive interest from the 4.5 million-strong Indian diaspora in the U.S., playing a key role in strengthening ties between the two nations.

“We are proud of Modiji and the work he’s doing for our country,” said an early attendee.
