Seven districts are casting their votes in this first phase, marking the first Assembly election since the abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019 ¹. The elections are scheduled to take place in three phases, concluding on October 1, with the results to be declared on October 8.

The main contest is between the BJP and the NC-Congress alliance, with the PDP also in the running ¹. The election outcome will be crucial in shaping the future of Jammu and Kashmir.
