Theft racket busted: A theft racket has been busted by IGA police squad and the accused were allegedly involved in the steeling within the cargo area of the airport. Seventeen High End Samsung Galaxy mobile phones along with ten smart watches have been recovered from the accused.
Theft racket busted: The Police succeeded in busting a racket carrying out theft in the cargo area of the IGI Airport. During the action, the police arrested four people and recovered seventeen expensive mobile phones along with ten smartwatches. In this case, the police also has nabbed an ASI (ASI) of CISF, 2 loaders of the logistics company and a shopkeeper too.
Theft racket busted: The FIR in this matter was lodged on 21 November 2022 by Ramesh Kumar, CO of Hotspot Retail. In his complaint, he alleged that nineteen mobile phones (Samsung Galaxy 22 and Samsung Galaxy 22 Plus) were stolen from his consignment, which were to be sent to Dubai. But it was stolen from the cargo area of the airport itself. The police had then registered a case in this matter and started its investigation.
Mobiles were being sold in Mahipalpur
A team consisting of SI Naveen Meena, HC Vinod and Constable Nitin, was formed to solve the entire matter. The matter was resolved under the supervision of Inspector Yashpal Singh, SHO, IGI Airport and ACP/IGIA Virender More. The stolen mobile phones were kept on regular surveillance and were being continuously monitored. After a few days, some mobile phones found activated and were traced too. Following which it was found that mobile phones were sold to different customers from a shop in Mahipalpuri, Delhi.
The owner of Khushi Communications, Vivek was arrested later. During the interrogation with him, it was revealed that he had purchased five brand new Samsung Galaxy mobile phones at throwaway prices from a CISF officer, who is on duty in the cargo area and lives near his shop in Mahipalpur.
CISF officer arrested
After the investigation with Vivek, CISF officer Brijpal Singh was also arrested from Mahipalpur. A stolen mobile phone was recovered from his possession, which he was in his personal use. He was interrogated and revealed that he was in contact with two loaders who were working in a logistics company named Delhi Cargo Service Center (DCSC) in the cargo area of the airport. He knew him for the last 2-3 years. A few days back they contacted him and told him that they had stolen many high end mobile phones from the cargo and wanted to sell them. He purchased six mobiles from them. They also sold five more mobile phones to Khushi Communications in Mahipalpur for rupees twenty five thousand.
Mobiles were to be sent to Dubai
During further investigation, both the co-accused loader Aswani Kumar and Rakesh were arrested from Mahipalpur and interrogated. They disclosed that the duo had stolen nineteen mobile phones after stealing a consignment. The consignment was to be exported to Dubai. The theft was done with the connivance of an ASI of CISF who is now the co-accused, Brijpal Singh. This ASI was posted at Cargo, IGI Airport. He revealed that he had sold 06 mobile phones to Brijpal Singh and had handed over the rest of the mobile phones to his accomplices so that they could be sold later. Further, at the instance of the accused person, 11 mobile phones were recovered from the possession of his 07 associates, who are also working in the same cargo company i.e. Delhi Cargo Service Center (DCSC). Apart from this, 10 smart wrist watches were also recovered during the search at the residence of accused Rakesh.
