Upon returning home, the girl initially remained silent but eventually recounted her ordeal to her mother. The family approached the local police and filed an FIR on Saturday evening.

The accused allegedly attempted to pressure the family not to contact the police, but they proceeded to lodge a complaint at the Imamganj police station.

Following the report, Imamganj police conducted raids at several locations and arrested the main accused, Pappu Singh.

“Pappu Singh was arrested from Sikaria locality under the jurisdiction of Rampur police station in Gaya city, and he has confessed to the crime,” stated Amit Kumar, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of the Imamganj range in Gaya district.
