The results of the recent general elections in Britain have been announced, marking a historic victory for the Labour Party after 14 years.
Labour Party leader Keir Starmer is now the new Prime Minister of Britain, while Angela Rayner has been appointed Deputy Prime Minister. In the 650-seat British Parliament, the Labour Party secured 412 seats, significantly surpassing the majority mark of 326. Meanwhile, the Conservative Party, led by Rishi Sunak, faced a major setback.
Shahid Sayeed, spokesperson for the Muslim Rashtriya Manch (MRM), commented on the election results, expressing optimism that relations between India and Britain will strengthen under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Sayeed remarked that history is taking its revenge on the British, noting the significant event of an Indian-origin Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, leading Britain, which brought immense joy to many Indians.
Sayeed highlighted that the current British Parliament boasts the highest number of MPs of Indian origin, a milestone in history. He recalled that the Indian presence in British politics began in 1892 with Dadabhai Naoroji and has now reached an impressive scale. For the first time, 107 leaders of Indian origin contested the election, with 29 emerging victorious. This, he said, is a matter of great pride for every Indian, and he extended hearty congratulations to all Indians for this achievement.

Sayeed also expressed confidence that the future will see people of Indian origin holding significant positions in various countries around the world. He emphasized that this growing influence of Indians on global leadership is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and ability to excel in diverse fields.
