Illegal Arms Factory Busted in Firozabad, Aimed at Influencing Lok Sabha Elections

The Tundla police station uncovered an illicit arms factory operating with the intention of influencing the Lok Sabha elections.

Firozabad: The Tundla police station made a significant bust on Thursday, uncovering an illicit arms factory operating with the intention of influencing the Lok Sabha elections. Authorities seized finished and half-made pistols, along with equipment used in the production of illegal firearms. One suspect was apprehended at the scene.

Additional Superintendent of Police, City, Sarvesh Kumar Mishra, stated that acting on a tip-off, Tundla police station in-charge Anuj Kumar, accompanied by a police team, arrested the suspect, identified as Ravi, son of Ashok and a resident of Chhikau police station, Pachokhara. The operation took place in the vicinity of the old Pashu Haat behind Kishan Hotel.

The recovered items included four pistols of 315 bore, one pauniya of 315 bore, two semi-finished pistols of 315 bore, three small and large 12 bore pistols, seven small and large 315 bore pistols, four small and large chisels, one live cartridge of 315 bore, and four saw blades, among others.

The accused confessed to law enforcement that as elections draw nearer, there is a surge in demand for locally manufactured pistols, which he intends to sell at inflated prices during the upcoming elections. He admitted to engaging in the production and sale of firearms, having served time in jail previously. He cited his luxurious lifestyle as the motive behind his involvement in illegal activities. It costs him Rs 500 to manufacture a pistol, which he sells for Rs 4,000 to 5,000.
