During an event, Bharat Express News Network’s CMD Upendra Rai delved into the narrative of Prince Siddhartha, also known as Mahatma Buddha, his wife Yashodhara, and his father King Suddhodana. Chairman Rai emphasized the significance of a pivotal dialogue between the couple, considering it one of the most profound exchanges in history.
Recalling the moment when Mahatma Buddha, on his path to monkhood, was called back by his father King Suddhodana, Rai recounted how 10 emissaries sent by the king ultimately joined Buddha’s path instead. Subsequently, the king’s 11th messenger reached Buddha, urging him to return to the royal court despite knowing he might not comply.
Reflecting on Buddha’s eventual visit to Kapilvastu, Rai described the anticipation and commotion that ensued upon his arrival. Despite the grand reception, Buddha expressed his commitment to his ascetic lifestyle, requesting to delay the meeting with his father until the following day.

The next day, as Buddha gathered with the court, he noticed Yashodhara’s absence. King Suddhodana revealed that she declined to attend, prompting Buddha to visit her palace. Rai highlighted Buddha’s humility and compassion, noting how he stood at the door with his alms bowl, gently requesting. Instead of forcefully opening the door, Buddha approached it with reverence. Holding the same alms bowl he had carried to meet his father, he stood at the door and uttered softly, ‘Bhavati Bhikshaan Dehi.’
Chairman Upendra Rai shared these insights during the ‘News Next 2024’ program hosted by ‘Exchange 4 Media’, where Bharat Express received accolades in multiple categories.
