Being the first woman police officer of the state reaching to the highest position in the entire batch, Laxmi Singh also won the title of Best Probationer.
IPS Laxmi Singh established a new record on her name in the police history of UP late Monday night. The firebrand IPS officer Laxmi Singh was appointed as the first woman police commissioner of the state. She has been given the charge of Gautam Buddha Nagar (Noida). Significantly, 16 IPS officers were transferred late on Monday night. The most surprising names in the transfer list, are that of Noida Commissionerate Police Commissioner Alok Singh and Varanasi Police Commissioner A Satish Ganesh. Both the officers have been posted in the DGP office. In place of Alok Singh, Laxmi Singh, IG of Lucknow Range, has been appointed the new Police Commissioner of Noida.
The new police commissioner of Noida, Laxmi Singh, is a 2000 batch officer of the Indian Police Service (IPS). Lakshmi Singh is the first woman officer of the country, who got the highest position in the entire batch and also won the title of Best Probationer. Not only this, Laxmi Singh was given a silver baton by the Prime Minister and a 09 mm pistol gift from the Ministry of Home Affairs. Along with this, Laxmi Singh has also received the Chief Minister’s Excellence Service Medal. She has also received the platinum and gold disc of DG.
An idealist in life, Lakshmi stays away from AC office
IPS officer Laxmi Singh spends most of her time on the ground. She believes that events can be seen closely by staying on the ground. This is the reason that recently during all the big incidents of Lucknow range, she herself was seen reaching to the spot, due to which a positive and pro-active image of the police was maintained among the public. Lakshmi Singh does not believe in working while sitting in an AC office.
Captained in many districts
IPS officer Laxmi Singh has been the Superintendent of Police and Senior Superintendent of Police in many important districts of the state as well. During this, she not only kept the law and order under control, but also encountered many dreaded dacoits and criminals. She is the wife of former renowned ED officer, Rajeshwar Singh who is currently serving as an MLA from Sarojini Nagar, Lucknow.
Made police hi-tech, PM honored
While being the DIG in Meerut, Laxmi Singh made the police hi-tech. In computerization, one district of her range was honored by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Not only this, due to the meaningful efforts of Laxmi Singh, her range has now become and is known as the number one computerized range of UP. Lakshmi Singh has also held the post of DIG in the STF. During this, dozens of her works were appreciated.
Lakshmi’s hard work made PTS number one
After becoming the IG, Laxmi Singh was posted in the PTS Meerut, where many good works were done through her hard work and efforts. The result of which was that the PTS Meerut has been declared the number one institute in India by the Ministry of Home Affairs, along with a reward of two lakh rupees.
Established Police Public Interface
Laxmi Singh was in charge of Lucknow Rural, Rae Bareli, Sitapur, Hardoi, Unnao and Lakhimpur Kheri while being the IG, Lucknow. In all these districts, the efforts of Police Public Interface continued constantly no matter how difficult the circumstances are. Also, it was the result of Laxmi Singh’s efforts that law and order was maintained even in adverse circumstances.
Laxmi Singh, a 2000 batch woman IPS topper, donned the khaki police uniform after completing her Masters in Mechanical Engineering and Sociology. And today she is an inspiration for man doing her duty honestly and courageously.
