Queen Camilla with King Charles
Queen Camilla, the 75-year-old monarch’s wife, revealed on Thursday that her husband is doing extremely well.
Camilla told a well-wisher at a charity concert at Salisbury Cathedral, southern England, that Charles was moved by the public’s expressions of support.
“He’s doing extremely well under the circumstances”, she noted.
“He’s very touched by all of the letters and the messages the public has been sending from everywhere. That’s very cheering”, she added.
Prince William, Charles’ son and heir to the throne, thanked the British public on Wednesday for their kind messages concerning both his father and his wife Kate after her recent surgery.
Kate, 42, had planned abdominal surgery on January 16 and then spent two weeks in the hospital recovering.
Since then, Charles has been treated for an enlarged prostate, but Buckingham Palace said on Monday that additional tests on the monarch found he has cancer.
With the king postponing his duties to receive outpatient treatment and Kate not scheduled to return to engagements until after Easter, the other royals, particularly William and Queen Camilla, must present the monarchy’s public face.
