Amit Shah inaugurates 58th Conference of DGPs and IGPs
Union Home Minister Amit Shah emphasized on Friday the importance of utilizing AI-driven analytical techniques and integrating databases to address new security threats. Amit Shah also emphasized the importance of the nation’s counterterrorism mechanisms’ consistency in terms of size, expertise, and structure when he opened the 58th conference of DGPs and IGPs.
India reaches “Amrit Kaal”
He asserted that the nation had reached the “Amrit Kaal” in 2023 and cited two significant actions made by the Narendra Modi government: the National Education Policy and the adoption of three criminal justice legislation to replace statutes from the British era.

According to Shah, the new rules will make the nation’s criminal justice system the most cutting-edge and sophisticated in the world since they place more emphasis on providing justice than on punishing offenders.
AI-driven analytical strategy to be used
The home minister emphasized that in order to address new security threats, databases must be linked together and an AI-driven analytical strategy must be used.
He emphasized that since 2014, the security situation in the nation has generally improved, particularly with regard to the decline in violence in three key hotspots: Jammu and Kashmir, the Northeast, and places impacted by left-wing extremism.
In order to successfully implement the three new laws, Shah emphasized the necessity of training police officers at all levels, from Station House Officer (SHO) or officer-in-charge of a police station to DGP, as well as technology upgrades from police stations to police headquarters.

He also emphasized the significance of internal security to the fulfillment of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s goal of making India a developed country by 2047. The home minister said that the conference has developed into a think tank over time, helping with decision-making and the creation of fresh security plans.
The conference will discuss a number of vital security-related topics, such as border security, cyberthreats, radicalization, fake identity document issuing, and dangers arising from artificial intelligence. At the Rajasthan International Centre in Jaipur, over 250 officers holding the levels of Inspector General of Police (IGP) and Director General of Police (DGP) are there in person, while over 200 more are taking part remotely.
He gave awards to the top three police stations and police medals to IB officers for their distinguished service. Shah honored members of the security forces who gave their life to defend the country.
