Tragic Death Of Sub-Inspector In Bihar
In the tragic incident at Naokothi Thana, Sub-Inspector Khams Chaudhary lost his life while on duty around 12:30 on Tuesday night. The District Police Chief, Yogendra Kumar, disclosed that the Naokothi police station received information on Tuesday night about a liquor smuggler using an Alto car to transport alcohol across the Chhatona Budhi Gandak River bridge.
Responding to the report, Sub-Inspector Khams Chaudhary, accompanied by three Home Guard soldiers, was dispatched to apprehend the suspect. Positioned on the Chhatona Budhi Gandak River bridge, they awaited the smuggler with their patrol vehicle stationed on the road.
Upon sighting the police vehicle, the Alto car driver accelerated, colliding with Sub-Inspector Khams Chaudhary, striking him before fleeing the scene. The Sub-Inspector fell to the pavement, succumbing to his injuries. A Home Guard soldier was also injured and is presently receiving treatment at Begusarai Hospital.
ASP mentioned Sub-Inspector Khams Chaudhary’s ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Following the incident, DSP Bakhti and Naokothi Thana in-charge promptly arrived at the scene.

The arrested car driver is undergoing thorough interrogation. Sub-Inspector Khams Chaudhary hailed from Markar Ganj village in Bihar’s Madhubani district.
Union Minister Giriraj Singh criticized Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, attributing the tragedy to the flawed alcohol policy that has led to numerous incarcerations, including innocent individuals. Singh underscored the consequences, citing the Naokothi incident where an AASI officer fell victim to a liquor smuggler. He urged Nitish Kumar to reconsider the alcohol ban policy in light of such incidents.
