India failed to claim David Miller’s wicket as the DRS went non-operational

During the third Twenty20 International, the DRS was non-operational for a significant portion of the South African innings, which cost India the wicket of David Miller in the ninth over.In the third Twenty20 International, India defeated South Africa by 106 runs to square the series.

On the spin-friendly Wanderers pitch, spinners Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav trapped the South African batsmen after captain Suryakumar Yadav scored his fourth century in T20Is. Jadeja only managed to take two wickets while Kuldeep took five wickets.

After the seventh over of South Africa’s 202-run chase, the umpires had notified both sets of players that the decision review system (DRS) had become temporarily unavailable. A technical issue with the local broadcaster SuperSport was the cause. It took a few minutes for it to take effect. David Miller, who was in form at the time, hit Jadeja for two sixes, but on the fourth ball there was a loud appeal for caught behind.

The Indians appeared confident and eager to accept the review, but the umpire shook his head and reminded them that DRS is still not available. Jadeja was the captain at the time and was heard questioning the umpire regarding the DRS while, Suryakumar was injured off the field.
