ISIS Case: NIA Raids 41 Locations In Maharashtra, Karnataka In, 13 Arrested

In August of last year, Aakif Ateeque Nachan, a suspect in an ISIS terror module case, was taken into custody.

In connection with an ISIS terror module case, the central anti-terror agency raided 40 locations in Maharashtra this morning, apprehending 13 individuals. In connection with the case, the National Investigating Agency raided another location in Karnataka.

According to sources, Thane, Pune, and Mira Bhayandar are among the 40 locations in Maharashtra that are being raided. Near Mumbai, in Thane Rural (31) and Thane City (9), are most of these locations. They said that two locations in Pune and one in Mira Bhayandar are being raided.

In August of last year, Aakif Ateeque Nachan, a suspect in an ISIS terror module case, was taken into custody. He was allegedly involved in the making of explosives.

The agency also arrested five other people last month: Adnan Sarkar and Zubair Noor Mohammed Shaikh, also known as Abu Nusaiba, from Pune; Sharjeel Shaikh and Zulfikar Ali Barodawala from Thane; and Tabish Nasser Siddiqui from Mumbai.
