Yemen’s Houthis Claim Responsibility For Missile Attack On Israel

Yemen’s Houthis claimed responsibility for a missile attack on Israel’s Negev region, targeting the Negev Air Base.

The Houthi military spokesperson, Yahya Sarea, stated that the operation was carried out using a hypersonic ballistic missile, which successfully reached its target.

Sarea emphasised that the attack was in response to Israel’s ongoing military operations in Gaza and vowed to continue such actions until the aggression stops and the blockade on Gaza is lifted.

Israeli Defence Forces Intercept Missile Before Impact

The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) reported that they intercepted the missile launched from Yemen before it entered Israeli airspace.

As a precautionary measure, the IDF activated sirens in several areas, including Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Despite the interception, the sirens caused widespread alarm among residents.

Houthis Threaten Continued Attacks In Solidarity With Gaza

In a televised statement, Houthi spokesperson Yahya Sarea reiterated the group’s commitment to supporting the Palestinian cause.

He declared that the Houthis would continue their military operations against Israeli targets until Israel halts its offensive in Gaza and lifts the blockade.

This marks the latest in a series of attacks by the Houthis on Israeli military sites, demonstrating their ongoing support for Palestinians amid the conflict.

Israeli Airstrikes Target Houthi-Controlled Areas In Yemen

In response to the missile attack, Israel conducted airstrikes on Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen, including military sites and infrastructure.

These strikes are part of Israel’s broader strategy to counteract Houthi threats and disrupt their military capabilities.

International Reactions And Ongoing Tensions

The missile attack and subsequent Israeli airstrikes have heightened tensions in the region.

International bodies and governments are closely monitoring the situation, urging both sides to exercise restraint and seek diplomatic solutions to de-escalate the conflict.

The ongoing hostilities underscore the complex geopolitical dynamics involving Yemen, Israel, and the broader Middle East region.

As the situation develops, the international community continues to call for dialogue and a peaceful resolution to prevent further escalation and to address the humanitarian concerns arising from the conflict.
