Serious action has been taken against the Russian President, Vladimir Putin. It has been over a year, since the onset of the Russia-Ukraine war. There has been a lot of violence during the entire time span. A lot of people are killed, deported, and have suffered major losses in life. All the blame for the suffering is put on the Russian President, Vladimir Putin.
Therefore, the International Criminal Court (ICC) has taken a very grave step by issuing an arrest warrant against President Putin. Additionally, the court issued arrest warrants for Russia’s Commissioner for Children’s Rights, Maria Alekseyevna Lvova-Belova. The reason for the same is suspicion of unlawful deportation of minors and the unlawful movement of people from Ukrainian territory to the Russian Federation, the report said.
Putin “is allegedly responsible for the war crime of unlawful deportation of the population (children) and that of unlawful transfer of population (children) from seized territories of Ukraine to the Russian Federation,” the court said in a statement.
The ICC’s pre-trial chamber found “reasonable grounds to believe that each suspect bears responsibility for the war crime of unlawful deportation of population and that of unlawful transfer of population from occupied areas of Ukraine to the Russian Federation, in prejudice of Ukrainian children.”, ICC said. Hence they have issued a warrant against the two.

He said that the International Criminal Court’s issuance of an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin on accusations of a war crime for deporting Ukrainian children was “justified.” The move “makes a very strong point” the US president told reporters at the White House, while noting that the United States is not a member of the ICC.
According to Agence France-Presse (AFP), the Ukrainian presidency stated that the International Criminal Court’s decision to issue an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin was merely the first step in reestablishing justice.
As a reaction to the warrant, the former tweeted, “The International Criminal Court has issued an arrest warrant against Vladimir Putin. No need to explain WHERE this paper should be used.” He also added a Toilet Paper emoji, to represent that it can be only used as toilet paper.
