Ukrainian forces launched an attack on Russia’s Belgorod region, killing five people and injuring 37 others, according to regional Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov. The attack occurred on his Telegram channel.
Gladkov reported that Ukrainian armed forces used cluster munitions from a Vampire multiple rocket launcher system. This shelling targeted the city of Belgorod and its surrounding areas, causing significant casualties and damage.
“Tragically, one woman and four men died instantly from their injuries before the ambulance could arrive,” Gladkov said.
Among the injured, 37 civilians, including six children, were transported to medical facilities in Belgorod. Seven adults and three children are in critical condition.

The assault caused extensive property damage in Belgorod. It shattered roofs and windows in two apartment buildings and damaged the glazing and facades of social facilities and commercial properties. A fire on the city’s outskirts, ignited by the strike, has been extinguished.
The attack also damaged 13 vehicles near a shopping center in the village of Dubovoye, south of Belgorod. Two houses, a car, and a garage were set on fire.
Last week, Ukrainian forces similarly attacked the village of Rakitnoye in Belgorod, killing five and injuring 12. This attack severely damaged local infrastructure, destroying 10 private homes, two commercial buildings, and four passenger vehicles.
On August 24, Ukrainian forces attacked over 30 settlements in Belgorod’s border region. In response, Russia declared a federal-level state of emergency in the region. Russia’s Defence Ministry reported that its forces continue to repel Ukrainian attacks, claiming Ukraine has lost over 360 servicemen and 29 armored vehicles in the past 24 hours.
