PM Modi said trust now stands as India’s strongest currency and underpins its role as a reliable global growth partner. Addressing the Indian community, PM Modi pointed to recent trade deals as evidence of India’s growing commercial trust.
He cited trade agreements with the UK, the US, the EU, the UAE, Australia, New Zealand and Oman.
PM Modi thanked Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim for the warm welcome and for joining him at the community event.
He described the visit as an opportunity to deepen a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership that New Delhi elevated in 2024.
PM Modi defined the bilateral relationship with the acronym IMPACT: India Malaysia Partnership for Advancing Collective Transformation.
He said India’s progress contributes directly to Malaysia’s prosperity and to wider Asian development.
IMPACT Driving Bilateral Growth
The Prime Minister highlighted the Indian diaspora in Malaysia as a living bridge between the two nations.
PM Modi noted the diaspora numbers nearly three million and praised its contribution to Malaysia’s social and economic life.
He highlighted cultural ties and said many Malaysian schools continue to teach Indian languages, sustaining centuries-old links.
PM Modi announced steps to strengthen shared cultural heritage. He said India will establish a Thiruvalluvar Centre alongside the existing Thiruvalluvar Chair at the University of Malaya.
He urged people-to-people travel, asking Indians and Malaysians to experience Incredible India.
PM Modi said the visit will deepen defence and security ties, strengthen economic and innovation cooperation, and expand partnerships.
The delegation will engage business leaders and attend the 10th India-Malaysia CEO Forum to advance investment discussions.
Both sides regard the partnership as a key pillar of India’s Act East policy, Indo-Pacific vision, and Vision MAHASAGAR.
PM Modi welcomed the progress in bilateral ties and said he expects productive talks with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
He praised the warmth of Malaysia’s cultural greeting and stressed that mutual trust underpins economic relations.
The visit seeks outcomes that translate diplomatic goodwill into investment, security cooperation and people-centred ties.
