Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday thanked the Indonesian government and President Prabowo Subianto after receiving Indonesia’s highest civilian and military honour, the ‘Bintang Adipurna of the Republic of Indonesia’, describing it as a tribute to the historic and deeply rooted friendship between the two nations.
Accepting the honour with humility, the Prime Minister dedicated the award to the people of India and said it reflected the warmth, goodwill and affection of the Indonesian people.
In a post on X, PM Modi expressed gratitude to President Subianto, the Indonesian government and its people for the prestigious recognition.

Earlier in the day, President Subianto conferred the ‘Bintang Adipurna of the Republic of Indonesia’ on Prime Minister Modi.
Instituted in 1959, it is Indonesia’s highest civilian and military honour, awarded for extraordinary service.
The recognition adds to the growing list of international honours received by the Indian Prime Minister.
During the visit, PM Modi also held bilateral talks with President Subianto at Jakarta’s Istana Merdeka.
The two leaders reviewed the India-Indonesia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and discussed expanding cooperation in trade, agriculture, healthcare, defence, security and maritime affairs.
PM Modi said the talks were productive and that both countries would deepen collaboration in defence, space, telecommunications, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital public infrastructure.
This is Prime Minister Modi’s fourth visit to Indonesia and the first stop of his three-nation tour, which also includes Australia and New Zealand.
