Following a stabbing incident in Indiana, a 24-year-old Indian student is reportedly in critical condition. At a public gym in Valparaiso City late last week, Varun was stabbed in the temple by the attacker, Jordan Andrade, using a knife. It is uncertain what motivated the attack.
Jordan was taken into custody and is being charged with attempted murder and aggravated violence with a deadly weapon. “Varun was attacked by someone brandishing a knife. Because of the seriousness of his injuries, he was eventually sent to a hospital in Fort Wayne, where he was said to have received a five to zero percent chance of survival. Following the vicious incident, Varun’s condition is reportedly critical, according to a media report that Tv reported.

Jordan, 24, said to the police that he saw Varun in a massage parlor and believed the man was “a little weird.” He chose to respond in the “correct way” because he thought Varun was a threat, according to a charging statement.
Over the past several years, there have been a few more incidents of attacks on Indian students in the US. A US citizen was detained in 2019 after killing Abhishek Sudesh Bhat, an Indian student. On the day of Thanksgiving in San Bernardino, Abhishek, 25, was allegedly shot and killed by 42-year-old Eric Turner. Mysuru-born Abhishek attended the California State University, San Bernardino to pursue a master’s degree in computer science.
2018 saw an unidentified individual shoot an Indian student in Tennessee, a state in southern America. Pulluri Shashank, 22, was enrolled in the University of Middle Tennessee’s MBA program. After an outing, he and his pals were returning home when the incident happened. Pulluri escaped the assault.
The 23-year-old Jaahnavi Kandula, who came to Seattle from India’s Bengaluru region in 2021 to pursue a master’s degree, is the most recent student to pass away in the United States. At the College of Engineering, she was working toward a Master of Science in Computer Science.
Her terrible demise was documented in horrific body camera film that was made public in July. Seattle officer Kevin Dave’s police car struck her in January, resulting in her death. At the time of the event, Kevin was allegedly responding to a call that was deemed “high priority.” Despite not having his siren blaring all the time, he had chirped, according to video that prosecutors released and Publicly partially publicized.
The tragedy worsened when union head Daniel Auderer of the Seattle Police Department was later caught on tape chuckling and declaring that Jaahnavi’s life had “limited value” and that the city should “just write a check.”
