Taiwan on Tuesday detected 7 Chinese naval vessels and 6 military aircraft operating around the nation. This comes amid escalating cross-strait tensions.
Taking to X, Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defence said, “6 PLA aircraft and 7 PLAN vessels around Taiwan were detected by 6 am (UTC+8) today.”
“2 of the aircraft crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait. #ROCArmedForces have monitored the situation and employed appropriate forces to respond,” the ministry added.

According to MND, “Of the six People’s Liberation Army aircraft, two crossed the Taiwan Strait median line.”
As per reports, no PLA aircraft entered the southwest corner of Taiwan’s Air Defense Identification Zone during that time.
In reaction, Taiwan sent aircraft and naval vessels. It also deployed air defense missile systems to monitor the activity of the People’s Liberation Army.
The Taiwanese military on 31 March condemned the filming by drones by Chinese netizens on the outlying island of Erdan near Kinmen. The Kinmen Defence Command said local officers would take appropriate measures based on the threat level the drones posed.
Meanwhile, Earlier on 27 March, Taiwan detected 9 Chinese military aircraft and 6 naval vessels operating around Taiwan.
Taiwanese armed forces monitored the situation and deployed CAP aircraft, naval vessels, and coastal missile systems in response to the Chinese activities.
As per reports, overall in March, Taiwan tracked 359 Chinese military aircraft and 204 naval vessels.
