Sweden Space Corp launched a research rocket from Esrange Space Center in northern Sweden on Monday malfunctioned and landed 15 kilometres (9.32 miles) inside neighboring Norway.
According to the space agency, the rocket reached an altitude of 250 kilometres and conducted experiments in zero gravity.
On Tuesday, the head of communications at SSC, Philip Ohlsson said to the media, “It landed in the mountains at 1,000 metres altitude, and 10 kilometers from the closest settlement”.

Mr. Philip further said, “When things go wrong, there are routines in place, and we inform both Swedish and Norwegian governments, and other actors”.
The space agency said, “The payload is being recovered, and an investigation has been launched to determine the technical details behind the unplanned flight path”.
Today, the Norwegian foreign ministry expressed indignation at Sweden for not immediately informing it of the crash.
The Norwegian foreign ministry said, “The crash of a rocket like this is a very serious incident that can cause serious damage”.
The foreign ministry further stated that when such a border violation occurs, it is crucial that those responsible immediately inform the relevant Norwegian authorities through the proper channels.
