Uttar Pradesh is set to host the 10-day Khadi Festival 2025 from 21 to 30 November at the Central Sanskrit University in Gomti Nagar.
The event aims to boost local entrepreneurship, promote traditional crafts, and strengthen rural self-reliance by giving Khadi-based industries a wider market platform.
The festival will bring together the rich heritage of Khadi, village industries, handloom sectors and local art forms under one roof.
Rakesh Sachan, Minister for MSME, Khadi and Village Industries, Sericulture, Handloom and Textiles, will conduct the inaugural ceremony. More than 160 entrepreneurs and units from various districts will participate, displaying their products for sale and exhibition.
Visitors will find an extensive range of regional specialities, including Saharanpur’s carved wooden furniture, Bhadohi carpets, Amroha’s gamchha and sadri, Sitapur rugs and towels, and Varanasi silk sarees.
Products such as Pratapgarh’s amla items, Lucknow’s royal honey, pottery, Bikaneri papad, leather accessories, traditional jackets, garments and numerous indigenous goods will also be available.
The organisers will honour selected entrepreneurs and beneficiaries for their contributions during the festival. Officials will present state-level awards to outstanding village industry units.
In addition, the government will distribute key equipment to encourage modernisation and growth. Five beneficiaries will receive dona-making machines, popcorn machines and honey boxes.
The department will give four beneficiaries electric potter’s wheels, while it will provide one beneficiary with a pug mill. These measures aim to equip rural enterprises with modern tools and improved production capabilities.
Aligned with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s vision, Khadi Festival 2025 serves not only as a platform to promote rural industries but also as a significant step toward empowering artisans, supporting indigenous products and bolstering the local economy.
The event will open pathways for innovation, business expansion and new opportunities for entrepreneurs across the state, and it will give traditional craftsmanship a renewed and sustainable future.
