Google CEO Sundar Pichai extended his Diwali greetings, sharing a photo taken by photographer Madhan Mohan Ram using a Google Pixel phone. Originating from Chennai, Pichai continued a tradition inspired by Apple CEO Tim Cook, who annually shares Diwali photos taken on iPhones by Indian users. Pichai captioned the photo, “In honor of Diwali celebrations, enjoying photos taken by #TeamPixel – here’s one from @madhanmohan_r. Wishing all who celebrate a fun and festive Diwali.”
Last year, Pichai shared a Diwali picture featuring a girl amid sparkling lights. Photographer Madhan Mohan Ram expressed gratitude for the share, writing, “Thanks a lot @sundarpichai sir, wishing you a very happy Diwali to you and your family.”
Pichai’s post garnered over 2 lakh likes on Instagram, including a like from actor Priyanka Chopra. Earlier, Pichai also shared the top five Diwali-related searches on Google, addressing questions such as “Why do Indians celebrate Diwali?” and “Why oil bath on Diwali?”
Meanwhile, Apple CEO Tim Cook joined the festivities, sharing a photo by Indian iPhone 15 user Chandan Khanna with a Diwali wish: “Happy Diwali! May your celebrations be filled with warmth, prosperity, and the joy of being together. Shot on iPhone 15 Pro Max by Chandan Khanna.”
