Sudan’s Interior Minister Khalil Pasha Sairin reported that rains and floods since June have killed 68 people and injured 130 others across various parts of the country. The fatalities resulted from incidents such as house collapses and drowning.
The minister’s statement on Monday detailed that the floods completely destroyed more than 4,000 houses and partially damaged another 8,000. Additionally, 40 public and private facilities suffered damage, around 832 square kilometers of agricultural land were affected, and several animals died, according to a report by Xinhua news agency.

Flooding occurs annually in Sudan, typically from June to October. Over the last three years, heavy rains have caused significant loss of life and widespread destruction of agricultural areas.
