Rahat Fateh Ali Khan
Recently, reports emerged about renowned Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan being taken into custody at Dubai airport. Geo TV initially reported that Rahat was questioned at the police station for several hours. However, a new video featuring Rahat Fateh Ali Khan seems to present a different narrative.
In the video, Rahat addressed the situation without directly mentioning any arrest. He stated that he was in Dubai for recording sessions and assured fans that everything was fine. Rahat requested viewers to disregard what he termed as “cheap rumors” and indicated that he would soon return with a new song, hinting at a surprise for his audience.
The video has led to widespread speculation, as Rahat did not directly address or deny the arrest allegations. This omission has raised questions about the actual situation.

According to earlier reports, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s former manager, Salman Ahmed, had filed a complaint against him in Dubai. Despite these claims, there has been no official confirmation of Rahat’s arrest. He had arrived in Dubai from Lahore for his scheduled performances.
Additionally, there have been revelations about an ongoing investigation by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) into possible money laundering and tax evasion involving Rahat. This investigation, which began in January of this year, emerged after it was discovered that Rahat had earned approximately Rs 8 billion over the past 12 years through local and international performances.
The exact charges against Rahat remain unclear. However, Rahat’s management team has confirmed his detention and is awaiting further details. It was also reported that Rahat’s ex-manager Ahmed had lodged a complaint with Dubai authorities. Rahat had previously dismissed Ahmed following a dispute, and both parties have since filed cases against each other. Rahat’s brother-in-law, Bakka Burki, is reportedly managing the situation on his behalf.
