Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Mohamed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi, expressed firm support for India’s fight against cross-border terrorism during a meeting with an Indian all-party parliamentary delegation led by NCP (SP) MP Supriya Sule on Monday.
The Indian Embassy in Qatar stated on X that the delegation shared India’s perspective on the April 22 Pahalgam terrorist attack, Operation Sindoor, and the country’s unified stance on zero tolerance for terrorism.
Khulaifi reaffirmed Qatar’s solidarity with India and acknowledged the importance of regional stability and cooperation in combating terrorism.
India’s Delegation Highlights National Consensus
The delegation included Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Anurag Thakur, V Muraleedharan, Congress leaders Manish Tewari and Anand Sharma, TDP MP Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu, AAP leader Vikramjeet Singh Sawhney, and former diplomat Syed Akbaruddin.
They emphasised India’s national consensus on eradicating Pakistan-sponsored terrorism and reiterated the message of Operation Sindoor.
Constructive Dialogue With Qatar’s Shura Council
The Indian team also held a productive meeting with Qatar’s Shura Council. Congress MP Manish Tewari and others discussed India’s civilizational identity and its sovereign right to respond to state-sponsored terrorism.
Tewari emphasised that India cannot remain vulnerable to Pakistan’s proxy war through terror and must take necessary measures to protect its sovereignty.
Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council, Sheikha Hamda bint Hassan Al Sulaiti, and fellow members echoed support for India and agreed on the need to uproot terrorism at its source.
They also acknowledged the importance of maintaining a zero-tolerance stance on corruption.
Qatar Parliament Supports India’s Stand Against Terrorism
After the meeting, Supriya Sule briefed the media, stating that members of the Qatari Parliament backed India’s approach and shared common views on counter-terrorism.
She noted the alignment in values between both nations in ensuring peace and stability.
Earlier, the Indian delegation engaged with editorial teams of leading Qatari newspapers, Al Sharq and Peninsula, to present India’s position following the Pahalgam attack.
They highlighted the national resolve against cross-border terrorism and India’s long-standing commitment to peace.
