In a viral video, Russian President Vladimir Putin can be seen ordering the President of Comoros to keep sitting after the latter inadvertently took a seat in front of everyone during a formal meeting. The video has gained a lot of popularity and admiration for the Russian president since it was posted on social media.

In the 30-second video, Putin is seen formally greeting African leaders in a conference room. Azali Assoumani, the president of the Comoros, sits down in his chair and motions for the visitors to take their seats, while the leader standing next to him appears perplexed but keeps standing. Assoumani eventually realizes the tradition he just violated and stands up, but Putin requests he sit and then takes a seat.
African and Russian summits
On Thursday and Friday, a two-day summit between Russia and Africa took place in St. Petersburg. According to sources, Russia suffered a setback because fewer African leaders attended the summit in 2019 than it did this year.

“Our nation will keep providing humanitarian aid, particularly to needy governments and areas. We aim to actively contribute to the development of a more equitable resource allocation system. To prevent a global food disaster, we are making all efforts possible, added Putin.

Peace agreement for the Russia-Ukraine war
Putin stated in his remarks at the Russia-Africa conference that Moscow will carefully examine a peace plan for Ukraine that African leaders had hoped to pursue.
The Russian leader stressed that his country was treating the African effort with respect and “looking at it attentively” and added, “This is an acute issue, and we aren’t evading its consideration.”
