Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday reaffirmed the strength of India’s ties with the UAE after holding wide-ranging talks with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi. He said both nations would continue working together to build a better future for the planet.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), the two leaders discussed ways to further strengthen the India-UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Key areas of discussion between the two leaders included energy, trade and investment, blue economy, fintech, defence, advanced technology and people-to-people relations.
The leaders also exchanged views on developments in West Asia and other global issues.
During the talks, PM Modi strongly condemned the recent attacks on the UAE and attempts to violate the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to peace, stability and prosperity.
The MEA said the visit also saw the exchange of important agreements in energy, defence, shipping infrastructure and advanced technology, giving fresh momentum to bilateral cooperation.
In a major economic boost, the UAE announced investments worth USD 5 billion in India, aimed at strengthening markets and infrastructure.
The MEA noted that the agreements would also contribute significantly to India’s energy security.
PM Modi highlighted the global impact of tensions in West Asia and reiterated India’s support for dialogue and diplomacy to resolve conflicts. He stressed that keeping the Strait of Hormuz open, safe and free remained India’s highest priority and underlined the need to follow international laws.
The Prime Minister also thanked the UAE leadership for taking care of the Indian community during difficult times and said India would continue to stand shoulder to shoulder with the UAE in every situation.
