Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the agreements concluded between India and the United Arab Emirates would significantly strengthen their bilateral engagement. He remarked that the outcomes of the visit were meaningful and would enhance collaboration across several important sectors.
India and the UAE finalised seven key agreements spanning energy, defence, technology, infrastructure, and investment. These pacts are designed to broaden cooperation and deepen strategic ties between the two countries.
A major agreement involved a partnership between Indian Strategic Petroleum Reserves Limited and Abu Dhabi National Oil Company to reinforce India’s energy security.
The collaboration is also expected to create new opportunities in LNG and LPG infrastructure development.
In addition, both nations agreed on a long-term arrangement for liquefied petroleum gas supply to ensure steady energy access.
In the defence domain, India and the UAE established a Strategic Defence Partnership covering manufacturing, training, maritime safety, cyber security, and advanced communication systems.
This framework is likely to strengthen military cooperation and technological exchange.
Both countries agreed to develop a ship repair and maritime infrastructure hub at Vadinar in Gujarat, supporting domestic manufacturing initiatives. They also introduced a skill development programme in ship repair to enhance workforce capabilities. This initiative aims to position India as a global centre for maritime services.
India’s Centre for Development of Advanced Computing partnered with G42 to develop an advanced supercomputing cluster. The system will have a capacity of eight Exaflops.
This initiative will likely boost high-performance computing and innovation.
The UAE announced investment commitments worth USD 5 billion across infrastructure and financial sectors in India, reflecting strong confidence in India’s economic growth. These agreements highlight a shared commitment to expanding cooperation across multiple domains.
The strengthened partnership will likely improve economic ties and enhance energy security. It may also elevate India-UAE relations further on the global stage.
