Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday received a warm welcome from the Indian community in Bishkek after arriving in the Central Asian nation to attend the 26th Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit.
The Indian community welcomed the Prime Minister with chants of Bharat Mata ki Jai and Vande Mataram.

PM Modi witnessed cultural performances by people from Kyrgyzstan and appreciated their performances.
A few yoga enthusiasts performed Yoga as part of the welcome for the Indian Prime Minister.
Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev received PM Modi at Manas International Airport in Bishkek.
After landing in Bishkek, PM Modi expressed gratitude to Kasymaliev for the warm welcome. He said he would hold bilateral meetings with various leaders and attend the SCO Summit over the following two days.

Several bilateral engagements are scheduled during the Prime Minister’s visit to the Central Asian nation.
SCO Summit Agenda
In his departure statement before embarking on his two-nation tour to Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan on Saturday, PM Modi said India has been an active and constructive member of the SCO since 2017. He said he would seek to advance India’s vision for the region, anchored in Security, Connectivity and Opportunity, while working with fellow SCO members for a region free from terrorism, separatism and extremism.
PM Modi said he looked forward to meeting Kyrgyzstan President Sadyr Zhaparov and other SCO leaders, besides attending the Opening Ceremony of the 6th World Nomad Games. He expressed confidence that the visit would strengthen India’s strategic partnerships in Central Asia, deepen its civilisational connect with the region and advance the shared pursuit of peace, stability and prosperity.
Kyrgyzstan expects the visit to boost bilateral economic ties, investment and trade, with the country keen to attract Indian companies to sectors including infrastructure, renewable energy, tourism, technology and agro-industry, Investment Minister Ravshanbek Sabirov said on Saturday.
