Focus On Counter-Terrorism And Cybersecurity
Their discussions centered on enhancing intelligence collaboration in counter-terrorism, cybersecurity, and emerging threats. Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal confirmed this in a post on X, stating, “PM @narendramodi held a productive meeting with US Director of National Intelligence @TulsiGabbard in Washington DC today. Discussions focused on enhancing intelligence cooperation in counter-terrorism, cybersecurity & emerging threats.”

Gabbard Sworn In As Director Of National Intelligence
Tulsi Gabbard was sworn in as the US Director of National Intelligence on Wednesday, following her confirmation by the Senate in a 52-48 vote. Attorney General Pam Bondi administered the oath of office in the Oval Office.
President Trump praised Gabbard, calling her ‘an American of extraordinary courage and patriotism’. He also highlighted her three deployments with the Army National Guard and her tenure as a Democratic Congresswoman, remarking, “Can you believe that?”
In her first statement as Director of National Intelligence, Gabbard acknowledged concerns over the intelligence community’s credibility and said, “Unfortunately, the American people trust the intelligence community very little, largely because they’ve seen politicians weaponize and politicize an entity that should focus purely on ensuring our national security.”
She vowed to “refocus” US intelligence agencies to prioritize national security without political bias.
PM Modi’s US Visit And Bilateral Talks With Trump
Following his visit to France, where he co-chaired the Artificial Intelligence Action Summit with President Emmanuel Macron, PM Modi arrived in Washington. There, on Thursday, he is scheduled to hold bilateral discussions with President Trump at the White House.
In addition, PM Modi took to X, where he shared, “Our nations will continue to work closely for the benefit of our people and a better future for our planet.”
His meeting with Gabbard highlights the growing intelligence and security collaboration between India and the US, further strengthening the strategic partnership between the two nations.
