Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Italian President Sergio Mattarella in Rome, underlining the depth and continuity of the India-Italy partnership.
The discussions covered a broad spectrum of areas, including trade, technology, innovation, clean energy, Artificial Intelligence, and cultural collaboration, while also addressing regional and international issues of shared concern.
Taking to X, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal posted, “PM @narendramodi called on the President Sergio Mattarella of the Italian Republic. The two leaders reaffirmed the strong and enduring India-Italy partnership and held discussions in areas including trade, technology, innovation, clean energy, AI and culture. They also exchanged views on regional and international developments of mutual interest.”

The meeting was attended by key members of the Indian delegation, including External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, along with other officials.
Before the formal interaction, both leaders exchanged greetings and interacted with their respective delegations, reflecting a warm and constructive atmosphere.
The talks placed particular focus on strengthening cooperation in emerging domains such as Artificial Intelligence and clean energy. Both sides also discussed ways to boost trade and investment ties.
Both sides stressed the importance of innovation-led growth and sustainable development.
Earlier in the visit, Prime Minister Modi attended a dinner hosted by Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
The leaders exchanged views on a wide array of subjects and reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral engagement. They also visited the historic Colosseum, highlighting the cultural dimension of the partnership.
