PM Modi Highlights India-Jordan Trade Potential At Business Forum

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday emphasised the potential of India and Jordan to convert geography into opportunity and opportunity into long-term growth.

Speaking at the India-Jordan Business Forum in Amman, he highlighted the importance of deeper economic ties between the two nations.

“India is the third-largest trading partner of Jordan. In the world of business, numbers have immense value. We are here not just to count numbers but to build a long-term relationship,” PM Modi stated.

The Prime Minister referred to historical trade routes, noting that goods once travelled from Gujarat to Europe via Petra.

“We will need to revive our old links for our future prosperity,” he added, underscoring the role of historical connections in shaping modern economic growth.

PM Modi highlighted Jordan’s strategic role under the leadership of King Abdullah II, describing the country as a bridge connecting various regions.

“Under your leadership, Jordan has emerged as a bridge which is helping to build cooperation with various regions,” he remarked.

During his meeting with the King, PM Modi discussed ways to strengthen cooperation, expand trade and investment, and leverage Jordan’s geography for mutual growth.

The Prime Minister also pointed to the growing depth of India-Jordan relations beyond trade. He noted that the visit’s outcomes reflect progress in areas such as renewable energy, digital innovation, and cultural cooperation.

“This visit is an important step in expanding ties between New Delhi and Amman,” PM Modi asserted, emphasising the long-term vision for bilateral partnership.

With India firmly positioned as Jordan’s third-largest trading partner, both countries are now looking to revive historic trade connections and explore new avenues for investment, innovation, and collaboration.
