The Palestinian health ministry stated that six Palestinians were killed by Israeli troops in the occupied West Bank on Saturday.
According to the ministry, a 25-year-old doctor was assassinated outside his home in Qabatiya, near Jenin, a bastion of Palestinian armed organizations in the territory’s north.
Another Palestinian was slain near Ramallah in el-Bireh.
Four individuals were also killed by Israeli army fire in Jenin, which was recently the site of the worst Israeli operation in the West Bank in over 20 years.
According to witnesses, the Israeli army surrounded Jenin’s municipal hospital and the Ibn Sina clinic on Saturday, and troops were searching ambulances.
They also claimed to have witnessed fierce fighting using automatic guns.
The West Bank has seen an increase in violence since Hamas launched a cross-border onslaught on Israel last month, killing 1,200 people, the majority of them were civilians, according to Israeli authorities.
