“Is It Necessary?”: PM Modi Questions the Need for Overseas Destination Weddings

In his recent Mann Ki Baat radio broadcast, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the significance of conducting weddings in India to retain the country’s wealth, urging people to celebrate on Indian soil. He expressed concern about the growing trend of affluent families choosing foreign destinations for weddings.

PM Modi suggested that holding weddings in India would keep the money within the country, offering opportunities for people to contribute to the celebrations and benefitting the local economy. He encouraged citizens to prioritize products made in India while shopping for weddings, aligning with the ‘Vocal for Local’ initiative.
