The missing wife of Vietnam’s ambassador to Pakistan, Nguyen Tien Phong, has been located in Islamabad, as reported by various news portals on Saturday (June 1).

According to reports, the ambassador had informed the police about his wife’s disappearance, stating that she had left their residence at 11 am and had not returned since then. Notably, she had left behind her purse and phone at home before heading to a salon.

A collaborative effort involving seven teams was initiated to locate her.

Pakistan’s Aaj TV reported that Islamabad Police announced on X that they had successfully traced the ambassador’s wife within four hours of her disappearance. The search operation, aided by cameras and cellular technology, involved seven teams. She was subsequently reunited with her husband and taken home safely.

The Margalla Police Station in Islamabad spearheaded the search operation, prompted by the ambassador’s report of his wife’s disappearance via Helpline 15 earlier that morning.

While the circumstances surrounding her disappearance remained unclear initially, it was revealed that the Margalla police station’s jurisdiction encompasses areas including the Margalla Hills, frequented by tourists and hikers.

According to SSP Investigation Hassan Jahangir Watto, the ambassador’s wife had left home intending to swim in the mega zone within Sector F-9 park. However, she reportedly became upset with her husband over something, prompting her departure. Watto stated, “The ambassador’s wife informed the police that she wasn’t feeling well at home, leading her to leave without a clear understanding of her actions.”
