Ten people lost their lives and seven others remain missing on Saturday as relentless rainfall triggered floods and landslides across Nepal. The tragic incidents occurred in the Kavrepalanchowk, Lalitpur, and Dhankuta districts, where numerous homes collapsed or were swept away by landslides.
“Since Friday, we have reported over 175 incidents of floods and landslides, resulting in both loss of life and property,” stated Dan Bahadur Karki, spokesperson for Nepal Police.

The severe weather has displaced at least 400 individuals, with many areas, including Kathmandu, experiencing significant impacts from the heavy rainfall.
Numerous roads have become impassable due to the landslides, hampering rescue and recovery efforts.
The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has issued warnings of continued heavy rainfall through Sunday, raising concerns of further damage and displacement.
