Musk Says Tesla Might Start Running On Indian Roads Soon After Meeting PM Modi

Musk is quite confident that Tesla will start running on Indian roads soon.

During the three-day state visit to the US, Prime Minister Narendra Modi Met Tesla CEO and Twitter owner Elon Musk. After their meeting, Musk is quite confident that Tesla will start running on Indian roads soon. Speaking of, as per the reports, he is likely to finalize an appropriate location for setting up his factory in India by the end of this year.

In an interaction with the media when Musk was asked about the timeline for Tesla coming to India, he said, “I am confident Tesla will be in India and will do so as soon as humanly possible.” After the meeting, Musk also told the media that he is a “fan of Modi.”

While sharing his experience of meeting the Indian Prime Minister he said, “It was a fantastic meeting with the Prime Minister and I like him quite a lot. He visited our factory a few years ago. So, we have known each other for a while.” Following this he expressed his excitement about India and said that “India has more promise than any large country in the world.

Musk also mentioned that Modi really wants to do the right thing for India while speaking on PM Modi’s leadership role in making technology more inclusive. Adding on to this he said that the PM wants to be more supportive of new companies and at the same time ensure that it accrues to India’s advantage.

Musk and PM Modi had earlier met in the year 2015 when the Prime Minister visited Tesla Motors factory in California.

The Prime Minister departed for the US for a prestigious State Visit on Tuesday. The highlights of the Prime Minister’s itinerary involve addressing a joint session of the US Congress, meetings with business executives and Indian expatriates, and a state dinner at the White House with US President Joe Biden.

Moreover, after arriving in New York on Tuesday night, the Prime Minister is meeting with nearly two dozen thought leaders from various fields. Nobel laureates, economists, scientists, scholars, entrepreneurs, academics, and health sector experts are among these leaders.
