Mexican Congressional Hearing Sparks Discussion On Extraterrestrial Bodies

Mexican lawmakers recently held an extraordinary hearing, marking Mexico’s first congressional event on Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP), commonly referred to as UFOs. During the hearing, journalist and UFO enthusiast Jaime Maussan presented what he claimed to be the remains of extraterrestrial beings. These artifacts, displayed in cases, had elongated heads and three fingers on each hand. Maussan asserted that they were discovered in Peru near the Nazca Lines in 2017 and were approximately 1,000 years old, as determined through carbon dating by Mexico’s National Autonomous University (UNAM).

While Maussan insisted that these specimens were non-human and unrelated to any known Earthly species, skeptics raised doubts about their authenticity. Similar finds in the past have turned out to be the remains of mummified children. UNAM, in a statement, clarified that their analysis aimed only to determine the samples’ age and did not draw conclusions about their origin.

The hearing also featured testimony from former U.S. Navy pilot Ryan Graves, who shared his personal experiences with UAP and discussed the stigma surrounding reporting such sightings. Congressman Sergio Gutierrez expressed hope that this hearing would be the first of many similar events in Mexico.

In recent years, the U.S. government has shifted its stance on UAP, actively investigating reported sightings and holding congressional hearings. NASA has even formed a panel to study UFOs, marking a significant departure from past practices. However, Maussan’s presentation faced criticism from skeptics who questioned the need for a scientific paper to support his claims, which they believed could undermine efforts to take the issue seriously.
